TYRONE'S NECROLOGY
Nearly One-Fourth the Deaths of 1894 Occurred in July

The number of deaths which occurred in Tyrone during the year 1894 was eighty-one, a remarkably small mortality for a town of this size, though the number is not so small as it was last year when only sixty-five deaths were recorded. During the month of July, there were nineteen deaths, nearly one fourth the total number for the year, and the largest mortality ever recorded for one month in the history of Tyrone. Following is the mortuary list for 1894:
Jan. 1 - Helen Josephine, wife of S. L. VanPetten, of consumption, aged
36 years, 1 month and 20 days.
Jan. 2 - Ella Grace, daughter of George and Agnes Schirm, fatally burned,
aged 1 year, 5 months and 21 days.
Jan. 5 - Mrs. Maria Ann Bing, of old age, aged 81 years, 9 months and 14
days.
Jan. 14 - Michael Vogt, of consumption, aged 54 years, 4 months and 3 days
Jan. 15 - Dennis Shea, of paralysis, aged 78 years and 5 months.
Jan. 15 - Robert Earl Gummo, of pneumonia, aged 8 months and 20 days.
Jan. 17 - Harriet Lavine, wife of David M. Silknitter, of consumption,
aged 32 years, 5 months and 7 days.
Jan 25 - John Morgan, of paralysis, aged 68 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Jan. 27 - Lulu Giffin, spastic trouble, aged 16 years.
Feb 6 - Thomas D. Walker, of grip, aged 68 years and 8 days.
Feb. 6 - Amber May, daughter of George and Mary Reese, of pneumonia, aged
5 months and 10 days.
Feb. 25 - Carrie M., wife of James W. Henderson, of nervous trouble, aged
19 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Mar. 7 - John G., son of R. E. and Mary L. Cronemiller, of convulsions,
aged 5 weeks.
Mar. 24 - C. S. McOmber, of complication of diseases, aged 48 years, 3
months and 15 days.
Apr. 16 - Mary Catharine, wife of John McGovern, of complication of
diseases, aged 32 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Apr. 17 - William B. Taylor, of old age, aged 82 years, 6 months and 17
days.
May 6 - John H. Ferren, rupture of blood vessel, aged 21 years and 6
months.
May 20 - Mary, daughter of Elmer and Florence M. Scruders, of inflammation
of the bowels, aged 10 months
May 22 - Effie M., daughter of George B. Smith, of dropsy, aged 6 years,
10 months and 24 days.
May 22 - Mabel Esther, daughter of William C. and Annie M. Shollenberger,
of whooping cough, aged 4 months and 14 days.
May 23 - Jessie Helen, daughter of William C. and Annie M. Shollenberger,
of whooping cough, aged 4 months and 15 days.
May 23 - Infant son of James Ross and wife, of pneumonia, aged 10 months.
June 5 - John I., son of G. B. Shollenberger and wife, of inflammation
of the bowels, aged 7 months and 4 days.
June 7 - Elias E. Borst, of heart failure, aged 68 years, 3 months and 28
days.
June 7 - Stewart R. Fox, of epilepsy, aged 84 years, 2 months and 23 days.
June 9 - Jessie Clyde, son of Walter Boyer, of scarlet fever, aged 6
years, 7 months and 22 days.
June 14 - Infant son of W. H. Derman and wife, of cholera infantum, aged 1
day.
June 18 - Clara, wife of William Glassco, of consumption, aged 42 years, 4
months and 29 days.
June 25 - Charles, son of D. T. and Hattie Kennedy, of cholera infantum,
aged 5 months and 26 days.
June 28 - Flora May, wife of Elmer E. Scruders, of consumption, aged 27
years, 1 month and 1 day.

convulsions, aged 10 years, 7 months and 2 days.

days.
July 6 - George W. Igou, of heart trouble and dropsy, aged 70 years, 2
months and 13 days.
July 7 - Agnes, daughter of John S. Carling and wife, of cholera infantum,
aged 10 months.
July 7 - Mrs. Catharine Miller, of paralysis, aged 72 years.
July 10 - Matthew Stephen Cresswell, of typhoid fever, aged 30 years,9
months and 22 days.
July 10 - Mrs. Catharine Kreamer, of old age, aged 82 years and 1 month.
July 17 - Charles Gilbert, son of Daniel and Verna Frantz, of congestion
of the brain, aged 5 months and 26 days.
July 19 - Gracie Ray, daughter of Rev. W. S. and Carlotta Walker of
cholera infantum, aged 5 months and 24 days.
July 10 - Joseph D., son of J. M. and Martha Miles, killed on the
railroad, aged 15 years, 8 months and 17 days.
July 21 - Isabel, daughter of R. B. Freeman and wife, of cholera infantum
aged 4 1/2 months,
July 22 - Lettie Blanche, wife of W. J. Luther, of consumption, aged 21
years, 6 months and 7 days.
July 23 - James Horace Thompson, of kidney trouble, aged 57 years and 4
months.
July 24 - Ambrose, son of A. W. Beyer, smothered in a corn bin, aged 5
years.
July 25 - Larinda Belle, daughter of John and Rebecca B. Troutwine, of
cholera infantum, aged 10 months.
July 26 - James Howard, son of Fulbert Snyder, of blood poison, aged 34
years, 9 months and 27 days.
July 29 - Florence, daughter of J. C. and Clara Hardy, of cholera
infantum, aged 11 months and 16 days.
July 31 - Samuel Jones, of old age, aged 86 years, 6 months and 8 days.

year and 5 months.
Aug 6 - Jonathan L. Holmes, of congestion of the brain, aged 71 years,
2 months and 25 days.

infantum, aged 8 months and 6 days.
Aug. 7 - Elizabeth Jane, daughter of Daniel and Emaline Deffenbaugh, of
scarlet fever, aged 16 years, 5 months and 5 days.
Aug. 7 - Benjamin Franklin, son of Daniel and Emaline Deffenbaugh, of
scarlet fever, aged 6 years, 11 months and 7 days.
Aug. 10 - Ruth Garman, daughter of Harry M. and Kate M. Wands, of cholera

of pneumonia, aged 12 years, 1 month and 11 days.
Sept. 9 - Rishel, son of Andrew and Isabella Friday, of diphtheria, aged 2

Sept. 13 - Son of Jacob A. White and wife, of pneumonia, aged 1 year.
Sept. 29 - Joseph K., son of Joseph K. and Sarah A Cass, of diphtheria,
aged 7 years, 9 months and 6 days.

accidentally, aged 2 years, 1 month and 3 days.
Oct. 13 - Infant son of Rufus and Bertha Cupper, of cholera infantum, aged
6 days.

months and 14 days.
Nov. 5 - Martha, wife of George Traister, of cancer, aged 57 years.
Nov. 7 - Samuel N. Williams suicide, aged 21 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Nov. 15 - Hattie Rebecca, daughter of John and Jennie Winskey, of
dropsy,aged 6 years, S months and 18 days.
Nov. 17 - William H. Henchey, of dropsy, aged 43 years, 10 months and 29
days.
Nov 27 - David Leroy, son of John W. and Frances B. Woodring, of typhoid
fever, aged 20 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Nov. 30 - Dr. William F. Musser, of pneumonia, aged 34 years, 1 month and
1 day.
Dec. 4 - Infant daughter of George A. and Katie Clabaugh, of spasms,
aged 1 day.
Dec. 17 - Lester Doran Clyde, son of Edward Nolan and wife, of
inflammation of the bowels, aged 2 1/2 months.
Dec. 19 - Bessie Margaret, daughter of David Irvin and wife, of spinal
meningitis, aged 8 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Dec. 19 - Mrs. Amelia Ross, of cancer of the throat, aged 72 years, 7
